Services Overview

End-to-End Cost Estimating For Every Trade

Getting a construction estimate wrong doesn’t just dent your margins, it can derail a project entirely. At Edge Estimates, we’ve spent years refining a process that’s equal parts precise and practical. Whether you’re a general contractor juggling multiple bids in California, a subcontractor quoting a single trade package, or a developer sizing up a new development, we give you numbers that hold up in the real world.

Our team covers the full spectrum; from structural steel and MEP systems to interior finishes, sitework, and specialty landscaping. We also handle 3D rendering and Xactimate-based insurance restoration estimates in California, making us a genuine one-stop shop for project costing at any stage.

Precision in Building Envelope

The building envelope is your project’s first line of defence against weather, and one of the easiest places for costs to spiral if not handled properly. Our estimates cover roofing, cladding, waterproofing, insulation, fenestration, curtain walls, and façade systems with close attention to detail. We look at material quality, site conditions, and the level of workmanship required, not just surface costs. Labour, sequencing, and coordination are all factored in to prevent surprises later. Every figure is aligned with local building codes. We help you submit a bid that’s realistic, competitive, and built to hold up long after the project is complete.

Accurate MEP Costing

MEP estimation isn’t something you can generalise, it demands a clear understanding of how systems are actually built and installed on site. We break down costs for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing with a practical, trade-first approach. From ducting layouts and equipment sizing to panel boards, wiring routes, pipework, and fixtures, every detail is considered. Fire protection and low-voltage systems are included where required. Working directly from MEP drawings, we prepare figures that reflect real execution, not assumptions. The result is a set of numbers subcontractors can rely on; clear, grounded, and ready to price without second-guessing.

Complete Project Cost Clarity

Our general estimation service brings the full picture into focus, from early concept through to final pricing. We prepare detailed, bid-ready estimates alongside conceptual budgets that help guide decisions at the right time. Material takeoffs, scope reviews, and value engineering are all handled with a practical understanding of how projects move on site. Whether it’s a small commercial build or a large mixed-use development, we tie together every trade into one clear cost plan. The aim is simple: give owners, contractors, and developers numbers they can trust, keeping everyone aligned and avoiding costly surprises later.

Finishes That Define the Final Impression

Finish work is where expectations peak, and where budgets can easily slip if not handled carefully. We estimate flooring, drywall, millwork, painting, cabinetry, and other interior finishes with close attention to detail. From tile and hardwood to custom cabinetry and decorative wall treatments, every element is measured and priced with real site conditions in mind. Ceilings, partitions, and specialty finishes are all accounted for, ensuring nothing is overlooked. Whether it’s a residential upgrade or a premium commercial fit-out, our takeoffs help you stay precise, control costs, and submit interior bids with clarity and confidence.

Structural Estimation You Can Build On

Structural work sets the backbone of every project, and small errors here can create major cost issues later. We prepare detailed estimates for concrete works, structural steel, masonry, timber, and rebar, based directly on structural drawings and engineer specifications. Foundations, slabs, framing systems, load-bearing walls, and lateral support elements are all measured with precision and broken down into clear quantities. Instead of assumptions, we focus on what will actually be built on site, including sequencing and material requirements. This gives you a reliable cost base that supports stronger bids and reduces financial risk from the ground up.

Specialty & Landscaping Estimation

Specialty and landscape scopes are often where budgets slip, not because they are complex, but because they are underestimated. We cover both hardscaping and softscaping with a clear focus on real site execution. That includes pavers, retaining walls, concrete flatwork, irrigation systems, planting, turfing, fencing, gates, pools, water features, signage, and other non-standard packages. Each element is measured with attention to material use, labour effort, and site conditions. By treating these scopes with the same discipline as core trades, we help you avoid missed costs and protect margin where it is most commonly lost.

Accurate Sitework & Demolition Estimating

Sitework and demolition set the groundwork for everything that follows, so accuracy here matters more than it seems. We estimate earthworks, grading, excavation, backfilling, haul-off, and utility trenching along with full demolition scopes including structural removal, selective demolition, and debris disposal. Site clearing, access roads, and preparation works are also measured based on actual conditions and drawings. Each item is broken down with realistic production rates and equipment needs to avoid gaps during execution. By capturing the full scope early, we help contractors price sitework and demolition with confidence and avoid surprises once work begins on site.

Realistic 3D Visualization

3D rendering is used to turn design intent into something clients can actually see and approve. We work on architectural visualisations, interior renders, exterior massing, and detailed walkthroughs depending on project needs. This includes lighting studies, material application, texture mapping, and environment setup to reflect real-world conditions as closely as possible. From residential spaces to large commercial developments, each render is built to support decision-making, design validation, and presentation clarity. Our focus is on producing visuals that are clean, realistic, and aligned with construction intent so stakeholders can understand the project before it is built.

Xactimate Estimation Services

Xactimate estimation is widely used for insurance repair and restoration projects where accuracy and documentation are critical. We prepare detailed estimates using Xactimate software for water damage, fire damage, storm restoration, and general property repairs. Each scope is built line by line, covering materials, labour, equipment, and regional pricing databases to ensure consistency with insurance requirements. We also handle code upgrades, contents restoration, and structural repairs where needed. The goal is to produce clean, defensible estimates that reduce back-and-forth with adjusters and support faster claim approvals while keeping the scope fully aligned with real site conditions.

Four Reasons Contractors Come Back Every Time

We don’t just run numbers, we understand construction. That’s the reason our clients keep coming back bid after bid, project after project.

Every time bid deadlines don't wait, and neither do we. Our streamlined workflow and dedicated estimating teams consistently deliver complete, detailed estimates within 24 to 48 hours, without cutting corners on accuracy. You get speed and quality, not one or the other.

Our cost databases are updated continuously with current material prices, regional labour rates, and equipment costs. We don't rely on outdated unit prices or generic national averages, every estimate reflects what things actually cost in your market, right now.

We deliver estimates in CSI division format, complete with quantity takeoffs, material and labour breakdowns, and a summary cover sheet. Everything is organised so your team, or your client, can review it without needing a translator. Clean, clear, and ready to submit.

You won't get lost in a ticket queue. Every project at EDGE Estimates is assigned to a dedicated estimator who reviews your drawings personally, asks the right questions upfront, and remains your point of contact from kickoff through delivery. When you have a question, you get a real answer, fast.
